47 years ago, I followed my husband from UT-Knoxville Tennessee to San Antonio and Wichita Falls, TX, 3 years in Europe, then stateside to New Mexico, Arizona, Florida, Williamsburg (VA), overseas again for 3 years- in Asia, returned stateside to Mississippi, Georgia (USA), and again to Virginia to homes in Campbell County, Bedford County, and a couple homes in Lynchburg.
As the stay-at-home parent, I set up cultural experiences everywhere that we lived. During the years that I taught homeschool, I worked with an agency to establish a weekly PE in the gym for the military homeschool community, hosted a weekly PE involving a few families at our home, and taught our children along with others. Education was the primary driver to move to the Lynchburg area as it offers several excellent options.
My financial contribution was managing our Florida rental (from New Mexico for 2+ years before kids while working as an Investment Advisor), managing our Georgia rental (from VA for 7 LONG years while parenting and in college myself), managing our local rental properties until sold, and implementing approved strategic moves for our finances. After completing a finance degree, I completed a masters in accounting and “walked” with our oldest child. I teach accounting, finance, and real estate as an adjunct professor.
The family has grown - they each have an awesome spouse and I enjoy time with my grandchild.
I’ve met so many wonderful people in real estate that some feel like family, too!

Donna has moved a lot with her husband and they built a home in Georgia. She rented it out for 7 years while living in Virginia, then supervised renovations before selling it.
